The new site will help strengthen supply chain resilience and reduce lead times for U.S. customers.

Premix Group, which produces electrically conductive plastics used in diagnostics, electronics, and industrial packaging, has opened a plastics compound manufacturing facility in Dallas, North Carolina.

The Apple Creek facility will produce advanced polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP)-based compounds and concentrates, using raw materials sourced within the U.S. These materials are designed for extrusion and injection molding applications and support functions such as liquid level detection and protection against uncontrolled electrostatic discharges (ESD&Ex), which are essential in diagnostic testing, chemical handling, and other high-performance sectors.

With a focus on improving supply chain security, the facility offers shorter lead times, local production capabilities, and a reduced carbon footprint for U.S.-based customers.

The project received $79 million in support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to help secure the domestic supply chain for critical diagnostics and other applications.

What people are saying

In a recent quote, Jaakko Aho, CEO, Premix Group, said, “These materials enable high-precision liquid level sensing in diagnostic testing, and safer handling, transport, and storage by protecting against uncontrolled electrostatic discharges (ESD) — a critical requirement in electronics, industrial packaging, diagnostics, and other high-performance applications. Establishing a manufacturing presence in the United States is about more than production — it's about building resilient supply chains and trusted partnerships.”
