Georg Fischer Central Plastics has begun construction on a new production plant in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The company, which produces metal and polyethylene pipe joining products, will invest $30 million into the 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, generating up to 300 new jobs in the process. When operational, the new facility will house GF Central Plastics’ gas meter fabrication department. This will free up space at the company’s West Independence Street plant for growth in its plastics manufacturing business.
In a recent quote, James Jackson, Head of Business Unit Americas for GF Piping Systems, said, “Our decision to invest in Shawnee reflects the hard work and dedication of everyone in our GF Central Plastics division. Their strong performance has been a critical asset for our company, and we’re proud to give them added room to grow.”
