CS PowerTech launches PV HJT solar cell manufacturing facility in Indiana
CS PowerTech has announced plans to open the first phase of its PV HJT solar cell manufacturing facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The company, which manufactures silicon photovoltaic solar products, has invested nearly $1 billion into the project and expects the facility to create more than 1,200 skilled manufacturing, engineering, and technical jobs.
Located at the River Ridge Commerce Center, the Jeffersonville PVCells facility will manufacture heterojunction (HJT) bifacial N-type solar cells. At full capacity, the plant is expected to produce more than 6 GWp of solar cells annually.
The facility is designed to produce HJT bifacial N-type solar cells and will operate alongside the company's module manufacturing plant in Mesquite, Texas, creating a more localized and vertically integrated manufacturing supply chain. According to the company, the plant will manufacture next-generation HJT solar cells that support domestic manufacturing, improve energy yield, and strengthen grid reliability.
