SEG Solar opens PV module manufacturing facility in Texas

The facility features four production lines dedicated to manufacturing SIERRA N series HJT modules.

SEG Solar has opened a PV module manufacturing facility in Tomball, Texas. The company, which manufactures solar modules, invested $200 million in the project, expanding its total U.S. module manufacturing capacity to 6GW annually.
The Tomball #1 facility spans more than 500,000 square feet, making it SEG's largest module manufacturing facility in the U.S. The plant has an annual production capacity of 4 GW and includes four production lines dedicated to manufacturing SIERRA N series high-efficiency heterojunction (HJT) modules supporting both 210 mm and 210R wafer formats.

The facility incorporates specialized HJT manufacturing processes designed to enhance module reliability, long-term durability, and energy yield. Commercial operations are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026.

The Aug. 7 inauguration brought together approximately 800 attendees, including SEG employees and representatives from local government, industry associations, business partners, customers and media organizations. The press release does not identify any government financial support for the project.

SEG Solar expands U.S. manufacturing capacity with HJT facility
In a recent quote, Jun Zhuge, founder & COO, SEG Solar, said, "Seeing another SEG manufacturing facility stand on American soil is a proud moment for all of us," said Jun Zhuge, Founder & COO of SEG. "The rapid growth of artificial intelligence and data centers is driving unprecedented demand for reliable electricity and accelerating the need for new energy infrastructure. Tomball #1 is an important step in expanding our manufacturing capacity to meet that demand, with commercial operations expected to begin in the third quarter of this year.

Looking ahead, we are advancing our third U.S. HJT module manufacturing facility and planning a U.S. cell manufacturing facility to build a more integrated domestic supply chain, strengthen long-term delivery capabilities for our customers and establish SEG as the largest crystalline solar module manufacturer in the United States."
