The Rogers facility will produce high-efficiency crystalline solar modules with up to 500MW of annual capacity.

Heliene, Inc. has opened a solar PV module manufacturing facility in Rogers, Minnesota. The company, which produces North American-made solar PV modules, invested in the project to expand its U.S. manufacturing capacity and created more than 220 new jobs in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.

The facility, known as Minnesota Line 3, has been operational since April 29 and features an annual manufacturing capacity of 500 megawatts. With the addition of this new line, Heliene’s total U.S. production capacity reaches 1.3 gigawatts per year, including its existing 300MW Line 1 and 500MW Line 2 at its Mountain Iron, Minnesota location.

Modules produced in Rogers are bifacial, high-efficiency crystalline solar PV modules incorporating a high percentage of domestically sourced components such as cells, frames, polymers, and other critical materials. The company has secured multiple strategic partnerships with U.S.-based component manufacturers to support this initiative.

To assist with job creation and workforce training, Heliene received $2.3 million in funding from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, including support from the Minnesota Investment Fund, Job Creation Fund, and Job Skills Partnership program.

What people are saying

In a recent quote, Martin Pochtaruk, CEO, Heliene, said, “Heliene is experiencing continued demand for our high-quality, high-domestic content solar PV modules. By nearly doubling our manufacturing capacity at our new Rogers, Minnesota facility, we can continue to provide best-in-class fully domestic content products and service to our customers, while we deliver on our broader goal of onshoring U.S. solar supply chains, by incorporating domestically-produced, cells, frames, polymers and other critical components.”

Senator Amy Klobuchar, added, “The opening of this new manufacturing plant means high-quality solar panels will be produced in Rogers to meet increasing demand for energy across our state and throughout the country—and it will create hundreds of new jobs for the region.”
