Huwell US Inc. to spend $11.6 million to establish South Carolina factory, create 25 new jobs
Huwell US Inc. announced February 3 that it would establish its first U.S. factory in Gaffney, Cherokee County, South Carolina. The new factory will cost the Italian private-label manufacturer of hair products and bleaching powders about $11.6 million.
Operations at the new site are expected to spin up in June 2026. The new factory will create an estimated 25 new jobs formulating cosmetics for independent cosmetics makers as well as established brands, according to a release from the South Carolina governor’s office. The state of South Carolina also announced it had awarded job development-related credits of an unspecified sum towards the project, and that Cherokee County would receive a $100,000 in grants to assist with developing infrastructure improvements to host the factory.
