Module Design invests $2.4M to expand modular housing manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania
Module Design, Inc. has announced plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Carnegie borough, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The company, which produces modular homes, is investing over $2.4 million into the project, creating 58 new jobs and retaining eight existing positions.
The expansion includes improvements to existing space and the purchase of new equipment designed to increase efficiency and production capacity. Module currently leases 22,000 square feet of industrial space at 730 Superior Street, where it manufactures its modular homes. The company’s homes are built to the Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Home (ZERH) standard, which offers lower utility bills, healthier living environments, and long-term savings for residents.
Module received financial support from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), including a $400,000 Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) loan, a $290,000 Pennsylvania First grant, and a $72,000 WEDnetPA grant to train its workforce. These funds will support workforce training as well as facility upgrades and new equipment acquisitions.
