The facility upgrade will increase production capacity and create more than 450 new jobs.

Modine has announced plans to expand its data center chiller manufacturing facility in Grenada, Mississippi. The company, which develops thermal management technologies and solutions, is investing more than $38 million into the project and expects to create over 450 jobs through the end of 2028.

The investment will upgrade one of Modine’s two facilities in Grenada to support building improvements, expansion of the Airedale by Modine chiller product line, and enhancements to testing capabilities. These upgrades will help the facility meet increased demand from hyperscale and co-location data center customers.

Chiller production at the upgraded site is expected to begin later this summer. In addition to expanding production, the project will boost the capacity of the on-site testing lab, which will work alongside Modine’s existing data center testing facility in Rockbridge, Virginia, to support product development in the U.S.

What people are saying

In a recent quote, Neil D. Brinker, President and Chief Executive Officer, Modine, said, “Increasing our capacity to manufacture data center cooling equipment is just one example of how we're executing on our strategy to evolve our portfolio for long-term growth. By repurposing the facility to meet demand from hyperscale and co-location data center customers, we're well-positioned to capture opportunities in our strategic growth markets.”

Eric McGinnis, President, Climate Solutions, Modine, added, “We are excited how our Grenada investment adds to our global manufacturing footprint for Airedale by Modine™ data center cooling solutions. In addition to the Rockbridge facility, we're already serving data center customers worldwide from facilities in Canada, Spain, and the UK. And, we're looking forward to the first product coming off the lines in the coming months at our new facility in India.”
