The new plant is expected to create approximately 300 new jobs in the Charlotte area.

AVL Manufacturing, Inc. has announced plans to open a power enclosure manufacturing facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company, which designs and fabricates enclosures for power generation and storage systems, is investing $79 million in the project and will create approximately 300 new jobs.

The 232,000-square-foot facility, located at 13330 Sam Neely Road, will be outfitted to support AVL’s specialized fabrication of generator set (genset) enclosures. These enclosures are engineered to protect critical backup power systems from environmental threats such as dust and weather conditions. The plant is scheduled to open in September 2025.

AVL’s enclosures are used by major enterprise technology companies and are expected to play a growing role in supporting backup power needs for data centers—especially as energy demands rise alongside the expansion of artificial intelligence applications.
