Mega Metal invests $34M to open copper wire manufacturing facility in South Carolina
Mega Metal has announced plans to open its first South Carolina operation in Ridgeway, South Carolina. The company, which manufactures copper wire for industries including automotive, medical, aerospace, and defense, is investing $34 million in the project and creating 135 new jobs.
The new facility will be located at 364 Blue Granite Parkway and will total 91,000 square feet. Once operational, the plant will manufacture superfine electrolytic oxygen-free copper wire, with a production capacity of 55 million pounds per year. Operations are expected to begin in September 2025.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits to support the project.
