Bobaek America Inc. has announced plans to build a new manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario. The company, which specializes in Korean electric vehicle parts, will invest $35 million into the project, generating 144 new jobs in the process. The new 71,000-square-foot plant will produce battery insulation panels and cell sheets for electric vehicles. The facility will feature a host of new equipment, including pressure molding and sensor cutting machines, tape assembly, silicon pad cutting and packing automation lines, and 3D measuring equipment. The company will receive $1.5 million from the Regional Development Program’s Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, and production is expected to begin in 2024.
In a recent quote, Dongjo Seo, President of Bobaek C&S Headquarters, said, “We are pleased to announce that Bobaek is establishing its first North American manufacturing hub in Windsor, Ontario. The plant’s output should be able to cover the entire North American market. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the individuals who have provided much assistance in enabling us to settle in Windsor.”
