Contruction has begun on a new Boeing Advanced Coatings Center. The facility will be operated by Phantom Works, a division of Boeing that focuses on research, development and prototyping. The 47,500 square-foot facility is expected to be operational in 2025. Part of Phantom Works’ Production System of the Future effort, the new facility in St. Louis, Missouri, will allow Boeing to “scale a platform-agnostic, modular and flexible digital production system across future defense programs,” according to the company.
In a recent quote, Missouri Govenor Mike Parson said, “This facility is great news for Missouri and for our nation. With more than 15,000 employees, Boeing is Missouri’s largest manufacturer that helps spur this state’s economic growth every day. This new facility shows our commitment to growth and our investment in the talented workforce.”
