Construction has begun on the advanced manufacturing innovation center (AMICSTL) in St. Louis, Missouri. Created by the Regional Advanced Manufacturing Partnership, AMICSTL is designed to help attract manufacturers to the area and develop the necessary skilled labor pipeline. AMICSTL will receive $7 million from the AmericanRescue Plan, as well as $15 million in tax credits. The center is expected to open in 2025 and will feature a 150,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing innovation center. The center will also offer manufacturing space, labs, cutting-edge equipment, and a community maker space.
In a recent quote, Chairman of the AMICSTL Board Dennis Muilenburg said, “We are leveraging the rich history and knowledge in manufacturing and our current strengths in innovation and workforce training to position the region for the future—to be an epicenter for advanced manufacturing that will contribute to driving inclusive economic growth for our communities, our bi-state region, and the state.”
