KettenWulf will spend $34 million on new Alabama factory
German chain manufacturer Kettenwulf and the Alabama governor’s office announced January 26 that the company would spend $34 million to build a new factory in Auburn, Alabama. In a joint statement, the governor and company estimated the new plant would create about 70 new jobs. While the governor’s office noted that the Alabama Department of Commerce and the Economic Dvelopment Department of the city of Auburn worked together to secure the new factory, no terms of financial support for the selection were disclosed.
According to its website, Kettenwulf is a centenarian manufacturer of conveyor chains, drive chains, sprockets and components. The Germany-based international company lists one existing United States location in Lithia Springs, Georgia. In a joint statement, Ansgar Wulf, KettenWulf’s CEO, said the new location would serve customers “across the Americas” and represent a strategic expansion.
