Miller Industries, LLC, along with the Michigan governor’s office and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, announced it would spend $43 million on an expansion of the company’s Fenton Township, Michigan factory. The spending will go towards a new 270,000 square-foot facility for semiconductor and electrical substations, and the company said in a statement it would create 167 new jobs.

The deal follows a number of state and local incentives. According to a joint release, Miller Industries will receive a $1 million performance-based grant from the Michigan Business Development Program and a PA 198 tax incentive estimated at $6 million in value from the Charter Township of Fenton. Additionally, the Flint and Genesee Economic Alliance is offering to assist with recruiting and permit processing.

According to a joint statement, the new jobs located at the site, about 10 miles from downtown Flint, will pay a starting wage of $25 an hour, plus benefits.

Founded in 2014, Miller Industries produces modular building systems, including prefabricated walk-in housings for electrical equipment, chiller plants and boilers, custom steel fabrication and conveyor systems. According to its website, the company also represents several HVAC-application companies.
