Sharrow Engineering to expand propeller manufacturing facility in Michigan

Aug. 28, 2025
The new facility will more than triple production capacity to meet growing demand across marine, commercial, defense, and aerospace markets.

Sharrow Engineering has announced plans to expand its manufacturing footprint with a new 60,000-square-foot facility at Eastland Commerce Center in Harper Woods, Michigan. The company, which designs and manufactures the award-winning Sharrow Propeller, is scaling production capacity to up to 2,000 units per month and expects to create new local jobs.

The facility, located within the Eastland Commerce Center industrial campus spanning over 1 million square feet, will be fully operational by December 2025, with production beginning in September 2025. The expansion supports Sharrow’s commitment to American manufacturing and complements its recent headquarters move to Newlab at Michigan Central in Detroit, a hub for innovation and mobility.

Sharrow’s propellers, protected by over 160 patents worldwide, offer significant improvements in fuel efficiency, range, handling, and noise reduction. The company is actively hiring skilled workers, engineers, and technicians to support increased production and contribute to the revitalization of Metro Detroit’s manufacturing sector.

What people are saying

In a recent quote, Greg Sharrow, Founder and CEO, Sharrow Engineering, said "this expansion is a powerful statement about the future of propulsion technology and American manufacturing. We’re proud to grow our footprint in Detroit and continue building the most advanced propellers the world has ever seen. By investing in local talent and cutting-edge facilities, we’re positioned to bring the same transformation to aerospace, defense, and energy that we already brought to the marine industry. It’s an exciting new chapter as we set out to redefine what’s possible in propulsion on a global scale.”
