Underwood Ammo invests $41 million to build ammunition manufacturing facility in Georgia
Underwood Ammo has announced plans to build a new ammunition manufacturing facility in Effingham County, Georgia. The company, which produces handgun and rifle ammunition for hunting and self-defense, will invest $41 million into the project, creating 120 new jobs.
The new manufacturing and assembly facility will be located at Savannah Portside International Park. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, and hiring for roles in operations, maintenance, and assembly will begin in 2027. The company will receive support for the project from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Effingham County Industrial Development Authority, Georgia Quick Start, and Electric Cities of Georgia.
