Gilead Sciences invests $32 billion to build pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in California

The project is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs and generate $43 billion in economic value through 2030.

Gilead Sciences has announced plans to build a new pharmaceutical development and manufacturing hub at its headquarters in Foster City, California. The company, which develops and produces therapies, is investing $32 billion into the project, which is expected to create more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The facility will serve as a hub for advancing pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. It is part of a broader plan that also includes a research building currently under construction to accelerate scientific discovery, as well as a biologics manufacturing facility designed to expand domestic production capacity. Collectively, these investments are expected to generate $43 billion in economic value to the U.S. economy through 2030.
