Eco King Solutions invests $80.5M to open biodegradable tableware manufacturing facility in North Carolina
Eco King Solutions has announced plans to open a biodegradable tableware manufacturing facility in Robbinsville, North Carolina. The company, which produces disposable bowls, plates, clamshell containers, and trays for the food service industry, is investing $80.5 million in the project and creating 515 new jobs.
The facility will localize production for Eco King’s growing North American customer base, improve supply chain efficiency, and reduce shipping costs and production lead times. Although specific size and production rates were not disclosed, the company stated that the project represents a strategic expansion into the U.S. market. The project will be supported in part by a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) approved by North Carolina’s Economic Investment Committee, which authorizes potential reimbursement of up to $2.89 million over 12 years, based on performance metrics. State officials estimate the project will grow the North Carolina economy by more than $743 million over the grant’s term. The average salary for the new positions will be $46,707, with a total annual payroll impact of more than $14 million.
