Brewco Saw Systems invests $1.2M to expand sawmill equipment manufacturing facility in Kentucky
Brewco Saw Systems, a provider of sawmill equipment solutions, has announced plans to expand its manufacturing facility in Central City, Kentucky. The company, which serves the lumber industry, is investing $1.2M into the project and creating 20 full-time jobs, more than doubling its total employment in the state to 37.
The expansion will add 11,000 square feet to the company’s existing 27,000-square-foot facility, increasing the total footprint to 38,000 square feet. New equipment will include jib cranes, expanded boom crane capabilities, welding machines, air systems, benches, and approximately six new fabrication stations. A larger paint bay will also be added to accommodate new product specifications and enhance production efficiency.
To support the project, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) approved a 15-year incentive agreement under the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based agreement includes up to $400K in tax incentives tied to the creation and maintenance of 20 full-time Kentucky jobs and an average hourly wage of $27.18 including benefits.
Brewco may also access resources from Kentucky’s workforce service providers, including job placement services, customized training programs, and job-training incentives.
