Ascentek invests $50M to build manufacturing assistance facility in Louisiana
Ascentek, Inc. has announced plans to build a new manufacturing assistance facility and expand operations at its existing production and distribution center in Shreveport, Louisiana. The company, which specializes in fluid and lubricant technology, is investing $50 million in the project and will create 91 new direct jobs while retaining 105 current positions.
The new facility will span 270,000 square feet and will include advanced high-speed production, material handling, and storage equipment to improve efficiencies in manufacturing industrial fluids, lubricants, and chemicals. The facility will sit alongside the company’s location at 7699 W. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and will incorporate infrastructure improvements to boost both operational capabilities and community safety. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the investment will result in 247 additional indirect jobs, for a total of 338 new potential jobs in the region. The company will receive support from LED, including access to LED FastStart workforce development, and is expected to participate in the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption and Quality Jobs programs.
