AVL Manufacturing invests $56M to open mobile machine manufacturing facility in North Carolina
AVL Manufacturing has announced plans to open a mobile machine manufacturing facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company, which specializes in custom industrial enclosures for large format standby power generators, is investing more than $56 million into the project and will create over 325 new jobs.
AVL’s new U.S. manufacturing operation, AVL USA, Inc., will produce and assemble generator enclosures used in backup power systems for data centers, as well as in the automotive, automation, construction, and emergency management sectors. These enclosures include electric inputs, switchgear, and components needed for power redundancy in server infrastructure. The 232,000-square-foot facility is located at 13006 Sam Neely Road in Charlotte’s Steele Creek submarket.
The project is supported by a collaborative effort that includes the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, the North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Community College System, and the Commerce Department’s Division of Workforce Solutions.
