Roche invests $550M to build continuous glucose monitoring manufacturing facility in Indiana
Roche has announced plans to invest up to $550 million to build a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) manufacturing facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, by 2030. The company, which develops diagnostics and healthcare technologies, will use this investment to create hundreds of new manufacturing jobs and thousands of construction jobs.
The new CGM facility will be part of Roche’s existing Indianapolis campus, which serves as the North American headquarters for Roche Diagnostics. The site currently includes research and development, laboratories, manufacturing, distribution, IT, and administrative functions, and produces approximately 5.2 billion Accu-Chek® test strips annually.
This expansion is designed to make the Indianapolis site a central hub for CGM system manufacturing, increasing Roche’s ability to supply monitoring solutions to the U.S. and 53 other countries. The investment will enhance the company’s domestic production capabilities, decreasing reliance on imports and supporting national manufacturing priorities.
The project builds on more than $800 million that Roche has invested in its U.S. facilities since 2015, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to U.S. operations.
