The new facility will triple Opsun’s current operational footprint and expand its U.S. presence.

Opsun Corporation has announced plans to build a solar panel mounting structure manufacturing facility in High Point, North Carolina. The company, which designs and manufactures aluminum solar panel mounts for commercial, industrial, and residential markets, will invest $9.3 million in the project and create 20 new jobs.

The facility will serve as Opsun’s third manufacturing site and the company’s first production plant in the United States. The new site will allow Opsun to increase operational efficiency and warehouse capacity while supporting the company’s expansion into the U.S. solar market. Once completed, the facility will triple the footprint of its current operations.

Opsun will continue sourcing all components in North America, reinforcing its commitment to domestic production. A performance-based grant of $40,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will support the company’s location decision. This grant, which requires a local government match, is awarded based on job creation and capital investment targets.

In a recent quote, François Gilles-Gagnon, President, Opsun Corporation, said, “We’re thrilled to open our first US-base factory in such a booming economic and strategic center. This new facility will be a key to Opsun’s growth in the USA, and together with our North Carolina workforce and local suppliers, we will help drive the growth of solar installations across the state and throughout the United States. Opsun always sourced all components in North America and this new U.S. facility reinforces our commitment for domestically made, high performance solar mounting systems.”

Josh Stein, Governor of North Carolina, added, “This announcement is yet another illustration of how much companies want to do business in North Carolina. Our skilled workforce, commitment to sustainability, and convenient East Coast location continues to attract global manufacturers like Opsun Corporation. I am proud of North Carolina’s continued commitment to our clean energy economy, and I am excited to welcome Opsun to our state.”
