Construction materials manufacturer spends $15 million to build first U.S. facility in Georgia

Duckshin Housing has announced plans to build its first U.S. manufacturing plant in in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia. The construction materials manufacturer will invest $15 million into the project, generating 100 new jobs in the process. Duckshin Housing produces architectural deck plates and frames. Using galvanized steel and rebars, the company’s deck plates are engineered to be both safe and cost effective.

In a recent quote, Myung Hwan Kim, Chairman of Duckshin Housing, said, “Construction companies of all sizes need new types of well-designed and efficiently made deck-plates for workers to safely work from. By coming to Athens, we can be closer to growing and new construction projects in Georgia and all states of the U.S. We are excited to join the Athens-Clarke community and look forward to this new opportunity.”
