Manner Polymers has announced their intentions to build a new 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The new facility will produce numerous PVC compounds, including those used in electric vehicles (EVs) and components for solar panels. The $54 million project, which will generate more than 60 new jobs, will be powered by a 15-acre solar field located on site. According to the company, this new facility will allow Manner Polymers to increase production capacity by 100 million pounds.
In a recent quote, CEO of Manner Polymers, Raj Bhargava, said, "Not only will we incorporate the most advanced manufacturing control systems available, but we will also produce substantially all of the electricity that we use. Our objective is to build the lowest cost, highest quality, most environmentally sustainable flexible PVC compounding plant in the world."
