Dec. 15, 2022
In addition to their purchase of the widebody planes, United will also order 100 Boeing 737 MAX planes to be delivered between 2024 and 2028.
United Airlines has agreed to purchase 100 Boeing 787 Dreamliners with the option to purchase 100 additional planes in the future. According to United, the planes will be delivered between 2024 and 2032, and United has the option to choose the 787-8, 9 or 10 models. In addition to their purchase of the widebody planes, United will also order 100 Boeing 737 MAX planes to be delivered between 2024 and 2028.
United says that 100 of the purchased 787 Dreamliners will replace older Boeing 767 and Boeing 777 aircraft, a move that will help the company decrease carbon emissions per seat by 25% by 2030.
Stan Deal, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, recently said, "With this investment in its future fleet, the 737 MAX and 787 will help United accelerate its fleet modernization and global growth strategy. The Boeing team is honored by United's trust in our family of airplanes to connect people and transport cargo around the world for decades to come."
