Mistakes happen to even the most seasoned DIYer, but this list of 10 epic DIY fails is truly dumbfounding.

As you well know, I consider myself a weekend warrior, filling my free time with DIY projects to beautify my house and yard. And, although I don't like to admit it, I do make the occasional mistake. Sometimes I use the wrong tool or I install something incorrectly. Mistakes happen to even the most seasoned DIYer, but this list of 10 epic DIY fails is truly dumbfounding.

According to Popular Mechanics: "When it comes to sprucing up our homes, we've all had that moment when we realize we've bitten off more than we can chew (the feeling usually sinks in around the second coat of streaky paint). But while some novice mistakes are common, we have to wonder what these not-so-intrepid DIYers were thinking."
