Protect yourself from rogue dinosaurs with a modified Nerf gun

June 15, 2018

Adam Savage, the legendary maker from Tested and Mythbusters, has created his own Nerf gun which features a large gravity-fed hopper to propel over 1,000 spherical foam balls at a time.

Over the years, we've introduced you to countless Nerf gun modifications, but none of them have been as ridiculous or as impressive as this Rival mod. Adam Savage, the legendary maker from Tested and Mythbusters, has created his own Nerf gun which features a large gravity-fed hopper to propel over 1,000 spherical foam balls at a time. Now, I know what you are thinking. Why would I ever need a Nerf gun that powerful? To protect yourself from a rogue Tyrannosaurus, of course.

According to Eric Limer for Popular Mechanics: "Savage builds on what Nerf started with its Nemesis MXVII-10K blaster, which featured a gravity-fed hopper capable of holding some 100 rounds and firing for over 20 seconds at a stretch. Nerf upped the ante to 200 rounds with its follow up Prometheus MXVIII-20K, but modders had already had it outpaced with the likes of a 1,000+ round proton pack of a reservoir, facilitating a truly absurd two minutes of full-auto fire. Savage's mode, detailed in a build video for Tested on YouTube, takes from both sides, sticking to the gravity-fed hopper of the MXVII-10K, but taking it to its logical extreme and building a hopper that's comically large."
