Choose the right applications: Ideal are variable-torque applications such as centrifugal pumps and fans where output is generally throttled by a valve or damper.
Be sure the current limit is set correctly and you have the right inverter for the current.
Protect from harmonics and line ring-up.
Evaluate old motors: They can fail quickly due to inadequate insulation.
Be wary of running motors faster: In centrifugal applications, load rises as the cube of motor speed.
Reduce speeds: If speeds are not reduced, there will be no energy savings.
Protecting electrical controls and equipment within food and beverage plants presents unique challenges due to the sanitation requirements of the hygienic environment.
