Make energy savings easier using these helpful tips

  • Choose the right applications: Ideal are variable-torque applications such as centrifugal pumps and fans where output is generally throttled by a valve or damper.

  • Be sure the current limit is set correctly and you have the right inverter for the current.

  • Protect from harmonics and line ring-up.

  • Evaluate old motors: They can fail quickly due to inadequate insulation.

  • Be wary of running motors faster: In centrifugal applications, load rises as the cube of motor speed.

  • Reduce speeds: If speeds are not reduced, there will be no energy savings.
