It's just business: Manufacturing acquisitions from ABB, Danfoss, Parker-Hannifin and more
Manufacturing is changing continuously and, more than many other industries, has many small and medium sized companies to go alongside larger ones. This industry breakdown means that medium and smaller manufacturers are continuously noticing potential synergies and launching mergers and acquisitions. To help keep abreast of recent developments, here are five recent acquisition moves made in the manufacturing world.
Acquisition: ABB announced October 1 it had finished acquisition of Brightloop, a French electronics company, by acquiring a 93% controlling stake. The purchase lets ABB, a Swiss industrial automation company, access BrightLoop’s high-performance electrical equipment, including its DC/DC converters, according to a company release. Edgar Keller, President of ABB’s Traction division, said in a statement the purchase “strengthens our position in the electrification space.”
Acquisition: Builders FirstSource, Inc. announced October 1 it had acquired two Las Vegas area construction materials companies, Builder’s Door & Trim and Rystin Construction. The two companies had aggregate TTM sales of approximately $48 million as of June 2025, according to a company statement. Peter Jackson, CEO of Builders Firstsource, said the “support our strategic focus on investing in high-return opportunities that expand our value-added product offerings in desirable geographies.”
Acquisition: Danfoss announced October 2 it had acquired Palladio Compressors, a screw compressor company. According to a Danfoss company statement, the expansion of Danfoss’s portfolio will help the company’s advanced heat pump and refrigeration applications. Fabio Klein, a divisional President at Danfoss Commercial Compressors, said Palladio’s technology “broadens our technological capabilities and reinforces our commitment to decarbonization across industries.”
Acquisition: DXP Enterprises Inc. announced October 3 it had acquired Apsco, LLC, for an unspecified amount. According to DXP, the acquisition adds Apsco’s catalog of pumps, controls, and process equipment to DXP’s existing water and wastewater offerings. In a statement, DXP CEO David Little said the purchase would improve his company’s product, aftermarket and service capabilities, especially those of its DXP Water platform.
Acquisition: Parker-Hannifin Corp. has acquired Curtis Instruments for $1 billion. The deal, announced in June, gives the motion and control technologies company access to Curtis Instruments’ motor speed controllers, power converters and input devices. According to a company statement, the acquisition will complement Parker-Hannifin’s existing offerings in hydraulic and pneumatic technologies.
