Baltimore Fabrication invests $6.2M to expand metal fabrication manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania
Baltimore Fabrication has announced plans to expand its metal fabrication manufacturing operations in York, Pennsylvania. The company, which fabricates and erects structural steel and other custom metal components, has invested $6.2 million into the project and will create at least 75 new, full-time jobs over the next three years while retaining 47 current roles.
The expansion includes the acquisition of a 35,000-square-foot building located at 1 Church Road in York. The site complements the company’s existing operations nearby at 101 Mundis Race Road. The upgraded facility will allow for increased production of steel frames, staircases, railings, and other structural and decorative metal components.
Baltimore Fabrication will receive a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) that includes a $250,000 Pennsylvania First Grant and a $200,000 WEDnet grant to support workforce training.
What people are saying
In a recent quote, Mark Rich, President, Baltimore Fabrication, said, “We’re incredibly excited to expand our operations into York. This region’s rich manufacturing heritage and skilled workforce make it the perfect fit for our continued growth. We’re grateful for the support of Governor Shapiro and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in helping make this expansion possible.”
Josh Shapiro, Governor, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, added, “Baltimore Fabrication’s decision to double-down on Pennsylvania and open a second manufacturing operation here is going to create more opportunity in York County – and it’s another reminder that we’re making real progress on growth and economic development. My Administration is committed to creating real opportunity across the Commonwealth — that’s why we are investing in a talented, skilled workforce, cutting red tape and eliminating permit backlogs, and creating shovel-ready sites for companies that want to move or expand in Pennsylvania. We are going to continue to make these types of strategic investments in real economic growth for Pennsylvania businesses and workers and keep our Commonwealth moving forward.”
