The new center will serve as a hub for hands-on workforce training, manufacturing R&D, and advanced technology validation.

Clarios has announced plans to build a Manufacturing Technology & Training Center in the United States. The company, which develops advanced energy storage solutions, is investing $600 million in the facility and expects to enhance both manufacturing efficiency and workforce development across its operations.

The facility will support research and development, technology validation, and skills training for Clarios’ workforce. Engineers at the center will design and prove next-generation solutions, including advanced robotics, AI-augmented vision systems, autonomous material handling, and next-generation manufacturing software. These technologies will be implemented throughout Clarios' operations to improve productivity, quality, safety, and workforce capability in battery production for mobility and energy storage applications.

The center will also deliver innovation workshops and design thinking programs to help workers adapt to future manufacturing needs. Clarios is in the process of identifying a location for the facility, considering states where it already operates and evaluating options for public-private partnerships and workforce incentives.
