Green Bay Packaging invests $1B to expand packaging manufacturing facility in Arkansas
Green Bay Packaging has announced plans to expand its packaging manufacturing facility in Morrilton, Arkansas. The company, which produces packaging solutions, is investing more than $1 billion into the project and will create 35 new jobs as part of the expansion.
The multi-year project will enhance the infrastructure of the Arkansas Kraft Division facility and includes the replacement of key process components such as the recovery boiler and biomass boiler infrastructure. The company will also install an electric turbine generator aimed at reducing Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions. Green Bay Packaging’s expansion will more than double the mill’s current production capacity and includes the acquisition of approximately 300 acres of land to support future growth.
The company currently employs more than 620 people in Conway County and operates multiple facilities across the Central Arkansas region, including sites in Plumerville, Conway, and Morrilton. In 2024, the Arkansas Department of Transportation and six counties partnered with the City of Morrilton to relocate Highway 113, enabling the expansion project to move forward.
