Yokogawa Corporation of America has announced plans to expand and modernize its Newnan Manufacturing Plant in Newnan, Georgia. The company, which produces field instruments for process industries, is upgrading the facility with advanced technologies and integrated systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
The project will consolidate manufacturing operations, assembly lines, a machine shop, maintenance activities, and a distribution warehouse into a single location. These enhancements aim to reduce production time and streamline workflows.
The centerpiece of the project is an autonomous machine center that includes two automated multi-tasking machines capable of operating continuously. These machines will replace up to five separate machines by integrating multiple processes into a single operation.
An advanced automated inventory warehouse is scheduled to open in March 2026. This will be the first in the global Yokogawa Group to feature full-scale automated storage with wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling pallet and bin organization. The warehouse will support just-in-time delivery to the assembly line using autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) equipped with LiDAR and AI for route optimization, obstacle avoidance, and real-time navigation.
