Northrop Grumman invests $20M to open air and missile defense integration manufacturing facility in Alabama
Northrop Grumman has opened a new integration manufacturing facility in Madison, Alabama. The company, which develops defense technology for the U.S. military and its allies, invested $20 million into the project.
The Enhanced Production and Integration Center (EPIC) sits on a footprint of 175,500 square feet, including over 129,500 square feet of flexible production space and 35,000 square feet of office space. The facility will manage component integration for the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), with the capacity to produce up to 96 Engagement Operation Centers, 96 Integrated Collaborative Environments, and 192 Integrated Fire Control Network relays annually.
EPIC doubles the size of the company’s previous center and incorporates technological and digital advancements designed to streamline design and build processes. The facility expands Northrop Grumman’s digital manufacturing capabilities and classified testing areas to meet both domestic and Foreign Military Sales production goals.
