An explosion at a centrifugal casting manufacturing plant has left five workers injured. The incident occurred at Delta Centrifugal in Temple, Texas. According to Matt McGovern for Fox 44 KWKT, the city’s fire and rescue department saw heavy smoke and flames coming from a building on the rear of the facility. Luckily, the firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames and get the incident under control.

Santo Soto, a spokesperson for the Temple Fire Department, spoke with Molly-Jo Tilton for KWBU and said, "There were five personnel from the facility that were transported to the local ER. They did suffer severe burns. Nothing is thought to be life threatening, but they are in serious condition."

Workers at the facility told KWTX that the explosion involved an induction furnace containing approximately 10,000 pounds of molten metal that was being heated to 2,900 degrees.
