Metal casting company invests $7.4 million to upgrade Louisiana plant

With the investment, Howell Foundry will expand its use of 3D technology, allowing it to better match rising demand from customers.

Howell Foundry has announced plans to upgrade its processing facility in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. The company, which specializes in industrial metal casting, will invest $7.4 million into the project, which will create 26 new jobs for the area. With the investment, Howell Foundry will expand its use of 3D technology, allowing it to better match rising demand from customers. According to the company, its use of 3D technologies allows it to rapidly produce metal casting replicas of critical components for the operation of industrial plants. The expansion will be completed in 2027. To help support the project, Howell Foundry will receive a $400,000 performance-based forgivable loan from the Economic Development Award Program, as well as other incentives. 

In a recent quote, Howell Foundry President JB Shoaf said, “Howell Foundry combines modern day 3D innovations with proven craftsmanship in one of the oldest known trades to produce rapid and reliable solutions to its valued customers who are primarily located on the Gulf Coast. We take great pride in being a local business that serves local businesses.”
