ABB has begun construction on an expansion of its Installation Products plant in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. ABB will invest CA$16 million into the project, which will expand the existing facility by 30,000 square feet. The project is expected to be completed in 2024 and will generate over 40 new jobs for the surrounding area. ABB hopes the expansion will increase its production capacity and enable it to meet the growing needs of its customers. The facility currently produces Marrette wire connectors, the NuTek series of non-metallic thermoplastic boxes, and Snap-it plastic fittings.

In a recent quote, Matthias Heilmann, President, ABB Installation Products Division, said, “ABB’s investment is part of a five-year strategy to integrate new digital processes and automation across our operations. With our customer-first approach, this enables us to further innovate our products and manufacturing capabilities to meet the specific needs of the Canadian market.”
