Rivian has announced plans to establish a remanufacturing facility in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The $10 million project will allow Rivian to update its 326,000-square-foot facility and establish a remanufacturing plant to support the warranty, repair and service of the company’s EV trucks, as well as remanufacture electrical hardware, drive units, and battery systems. The investment will also generate 218 new full-time jobs.

In a recent quote, Jimmy Knauf, Rivian’s executive vice president of facilities, said, “We’re thrilled to be working with the State of Kentucky to help develop and expand Rivian’s first facility within the state. Our new site in Shepherdsville will support multiple business-critical functions for Rivian and help bring good-paying jobs and training for Kentuckians in the region.”
