Carfair Composites joins United Steelworkers union

Feb. 15, 2023
Carfair stated last April that it would not interfere with the process if workers decided to explore collective bargaining.

Workers at the Carfair Composites Inc. facility in Anniston, Alabama, have voted to become members of the United Steelworkers (USW) union. The plant, which employs approximately 60 people, chose to unionize to give workers greater bargaining power when advocating for improved benefits and compensation. Carfair stated last April that it would not interfere with the process if workers decided to explore collective bargaining.

In a recent quote, USW District 9 Director Daniel Flippo said, "Too many employers fight their workers tooth and nail to keep them from exercising their right to organize. True neutrality allows workers to make their own choice – and as workers at Carfair overwhelmingly demonstrated, workers want a seat at the table."
