The U.S. Census Bureau's latest report shows that new orders for manufactured goods increased in October.

The U.S. Census Bureau's latest report shows that new orders for manufactured goods increased in October. Orders increased $5.8 billion to $556.6 billion, a 1% increase. When examining new orders for manufactured durable goods, the report shows that transportation equipment accounted for an overall increase of 1.1%. New orders for manufactured nondurable goods, however, only increased 1%.

Also included in the report, shipments increased $3.9 billion to $554.8 billion and unfilled orders increased $6.9 billion to $1,144.0 billion. This represents a 0.7% and 0.6% increase, respectively.
