Manufacturer fined $275K for 32 serious safety violations after two workers suffer injuries

An OSHA investigation has determined that FB International Inc. exposed workers to dozens of serious safety and health hazards. The investigation began after two workers were injured on the job, suffering an eye injury and foot injury. The company, which manufactures trade show displays, was cited for 32 serious violations and faces $256,931 in penalties. The violations include failing to train workers on safety practices, not making sure employees wore proper PPE, failing to perform hazard assessments, lacking required machine guards, and failing to make sure electrical equipment was used properly. 

In a recent quote, OSHA Area Director Lisa Levy said, “An OSHA inspection that finds this volume of safety and health violations across several work areas indicates a failed safety and health program. The inspection results should serve as a wake-up call for FB International Inc. to eliminate workplace hazards immediately and make effective safety and health programs a priority.”
