At the 2019 Reliable Plant Conference and Exhibition, attendees were introduced to new ideas and given strategies for rallying colleagues and management behind these new concepts so they could be implemented for visible improvement. Plant Services Editor-in-Chief Thomas Wilk attended the event and photographed his journey.

“It’s the right thing to do for maintenance to train operations. Reliability is holistic, it is all of our responsibility. To operationalize reliability, drive it from maintenance but work it through operations.”

Kevin Grider of GM presents on the Advantages of Predictive Energy Management, detailing a project where he and his team used infrared and ultrasound to optimize their compressed air system. Results after three years included 620 leaks repaired, utility rebates of $68,000, and energy loss savings of $337,000, in addition to considerable annual savings to not operate extra compressors.
