Welcome to Career Guide. Every week, we'll highlight a new job from our Plant Connection job board. This week's position is Engineer Process Safety for GSK in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Job requirements include:

  • Development and implementation of process safety management program at Mississauga site, working closely with Production, EHS and Quality functions this will involve the development of procedures, compliance reporting and compliance auditing.
  • Ability to identify any potential or actual adverse process safety hazards and develop appropriate risk management strategies
  • Lead, manage and facilitate the completion of process hazard identification and risk assessments (PHIRA) for the facility (e.g. HAZOP, FMEA, TRA)
  • Ensure that process safety related documentation for all identified hazards are developed and maintained.
  • Identifying process safety training needs and to provide that training through in house resources or external consultancy. Creation & delivery of process safety training packages, including legal and code requirements, to equip the site with the internal expertise needed to manage process safety performance in a sustainable manner.
  • Auditing of the process safety management program
  • Act as site point of contact for all process safety related matters
  • Liaising with above site process safety centre of excellence and external regulators
  • Communication of group alerts/shared learnings/legislative updates relevant to process safety management
