Big Bang Theory actress talks about STEM

June 25, 2014

Mayim Bialik from Big Bang talks about her career in STEM as well as why other people should think about pursuing it as well.

Maya Bialik, actress on the Big Bang Theory, agrees that there’s more to STEM than meets the eye. It is an incredibly difficult path to follow, and one preparing to get a degree in a STEM field must also be ready for some hard times. But, while getting a degree in a STEM field may be extremely difficult and the grades may not be as high as the student would want, Bialik advises not to give up hope.

“STEM is a very difficult set of topics and fields. But it’s also tremendously rewarding,” Bialik said. “It’s not just, ‘Do you have the grades to go to med. school?’ Because I didn’t. There’s a lot of other things you can do as a scientist.”
