In these difficult economic times, it seems like everyone is looking for a new or better job. To aid plant engineering professionals in their search, Plant Services has unveiled Plant Connection, a career resource center designed to help qualified jobseekers find the perfect position. In this edition of Hard-Hat How-To, Plant Services will help guide you through the Plant Connection job board.

First, go to http://Jobs.PlantServices.com. The Plant Connection homepage is divided into two columns. Information for jobseekers, including posting an anonymous resume, viewing jobs online and utilizing the personal job alerts, is listed on the left-hand side of the screen. Information for employers and recruiters, including viewing resumes, posting a job, and products and pricing, is listed on the right-hand side of the screen.
If you’re interested in job-related articles with tips and tricks for finding the perfect employee or position, simply scroll down to the Editoral Bytes section.

If you click “View Jobs,” you will be shown a list of all available jobs in the career resource center. The jobs are arranged in chronological order with the most recent posts near the top of the page. You can filter the jobs by keyword, location or jobtype.

If you click on an individual job, you will be shown a brief overview of the position, including the job description and job requirement. If you wish to save or apply for a job, you must first log in to Plant Connection.
Creating a jobseeker or employer account has numerous benefits. Your personal jobseeker account allows you to find jobs, manage your resumes and set up job alerts. Your personal employer account allows you to quickly post job openings and manage your online recruiting efforts with ease.
To log in to your Plant Connection account, simply type your e-mail address and password into the spaces provided and click “Login to My Account.” If you do not have an account, you can easily create one by entering the necessary information and clicking “Create My Account.”

For increased personalization, sign up for job alerts. Your personal job alerts notify you by e-mail of new jobs posted that match your search preferences. To create an alert, simply select the job function, industry and state that match your criteria. You may select as may options as you want. You can also choose whether to have the alerts e-mailed to you daily or weekly.

You can also post an anonymous resume at Plant Connection. Whether you're actively or passively seeking work, your online resume is your ticket to great job offers. Once you have logged in, you can choose to upload an existing resume or create a new resume from scratch by filling in the necessary information directly on the Web site. You can even create a cover letter.
Plant Connection also has numerous benefits for employers and recruiters.  If you click “Products/Pricing,” you will be shown a list of available options to match your staffing needs and budget.
