Inspiring the minority: Females in engineering

Debbie Sterling, an engineer and founder of GoldieBlox, a toy company that is looking to inspire future female engineers, speaks out on the discrimination and negative reactions she got when she announced that she wanted to go into engineering. While the actions and words of those around her were far from encouraging, she didn’t let that stop her. Now, as a result, she is ready to take a stand and speak out against those who don’t think women can step up to the STEM plate. In this video she shares insights about how to encourage females to go into STEM careers, despite being a minority.
