Turn scrap metal into etched art in this DIY tutorial

During my previous life as an artist, I often created prints using etched metal plates. While the idea of reproducing a piece of work just by reapplying ink was exciting, the reality of etching and re-etching plates in baths of harsh-smelling chemicals was far less glamorous. If only I had known that I could achieve the same results with a nine-volt battery and some salt water. In a recent video, YouTuber The King of Random demonstrates how to use electricity and salt water to carve custom designs into steel. Maybe it’s time to give my stainless-steel refrigerator a makeover.
