STEAM is more than just shoving Art in the middle of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. STEAM is a new revolution, kicked off of STEM, to incorporate the arts into what would otherwise be a laser-focused group. This infographic shows that while STEM offers multitudes of good skills for children and workers to have, the extra “A” develops not only more good skills and working habits, but more ways for kids to stand out of the crowd with extra creativity and versatility. Who wouldn’t reconsider the Arts if they knew that, “students who take four years of arts and music classes while in high school score 98 points better on their SATs than students who took only one half-year or less”?
